The Class 3F or 'Jinty' was a small steam locomotive built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railways between 1924 and 1931 and were used for various shunting, freight and small passenger services. They were so popular and versatile that a total of 422 were built and used across the UK until 1967 on the mainline with one continuing service until 1970 at an industrial colliery a couple of years after the rest of steam had been withdrawn. A total of 9 are preserved today.
This was a high-poly model that I had created a couple of years ago however was never fully happy with the texturing I had done for it. After creating my Hall Class locomotive model, I decided to return to this and give texturing it another go, especially keen to use it for practicing my weathering techniques. Overall I'm really happy with how these turned out and rendered them in the same 'poster' style that I did for the Hall Class, inspired by Stuart Black's work. See here: https://www.stuartblack.com
Modelled with Maya, textured in Substance Painter and Krita and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag and Krita.
